My third north western Yellow Browed Warbler of the autumn was seen today around Borran’s Park in Cumbria, courtesy of Harry Coghill. The bird showed well on off but never called, and I still couldn’t grab a photo of it. Cumbria Bird Club

A Halifax birding day out with Harry Coghill with some Pintail madness! 1st went to Ringstone Edge to twitch two drakes found earlier, as it was a Halifax tick! Found 4 birds present! Then checked Elland GP and had 3 females fly over with a Wigeon! Just one other Halifax 2024 record!

Amazing to see a red-necked grebe at Leeshaw reservoir, a lifer and a great start to 2025. Lovely views when it popped up every time after diving.

After a brief view of the Ross's Gull when it shot through my scope whilst seawatching this morning at Whitburn. I was pleased when it was refound at South Shields and I could spend some time enjoying it.

When an Arctic Tern chick has a Lumpfish which is too large to swallow. It still didn't give up trying!

Great to team up with Spurn Bird Observatory in a joint Motus Tracking Project on Jack Snipe (supported by British Birds). The first birds were tagged in the #LDV last night and we're now looking forward to seeing what results this project unearths - thanks to everyone involved.
