One of my favourite things to do while on cooking duties: set the Pretty Random app to 1-500, give it a shake and play which ever album in Rolling Stonesโ€™ Top 500 albums comes up. Tonight 497: The Indestructible Beat of Soweto. It is basically Graceland the year before it was out

Very relieved my piece on the Brit Awards for the BBC1 6 O'Clock News is finished, as Scotland are live on BBC2 at 17:00 playing the might of Liechtenstein. It's on for the whole of the UK. Come and join the fun, you glory hunters. *joke* bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00โ€ฆ

The footage of Acquiesce (courtesy of Big Brother Recordings) has got me very excited about seeing Oasis first night in Manchester at Heaton Park next Friday. Interesting that they skipped their 3rd most popular song on streaming, Stop Crying Your Heart Our.

This is quite a stat: Rod Stewart at Glastonbury got a bigger overnight TV audience (3.4m) than the three headliners: The 1975 (0.9m), Neil Young (0.7m), Olivia Rodrigo (0.9m) and Charli XCX (0.8m) added together.

Incredible that after 28 days, the viewing figures for the third episode of Wednesday are almost identical to the third episode of BBC1โ€™s Destination X. 5.2m to 5.1m Rob Brydonโ€™s reality show was a big hit without people really realising.

Loved speaking to Gary Kemp about the Design Museum Blitz Club exhibition. He is a proper pop historian. Have started exploring his Rockonteurs podcast. The episode with Boy George on the Blitz is a great starting point. podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/rocโ€ฆ

Went to see Lewis Capaldi play in Nottingham last night. Only found out then that earlier in the day he turned up at the Aldi in West Bridgford and sang on the roof.
