A full couple of days visiting the HMML team at the ELID project in Djenné and stopping in Ségou to see a couple of libraries— lots of time on the road but well worth it! Given the situation in Mali we need to work as broadly and quickly as possible. #HMMLinMali

We’ve finished a meeting of the Catholic-Oriental Dialogue in Rome with the signing of a new document on the sacraments and an audience with Pope Francis. Great to bring several years of work to completion— as chair of the drafting committee it was especially satisfying for me!

A set of notebooks that belonged to a Danish sailor c.1690, six of which have have unusual black pages. One has been written on with chalk, while the others have writing etched into the pages. Below is breakdown of what we have discovered about them with a few observations /1
