A study by Columbia Mailman professors has found that the School’s MOSAIC program, a faculty-led #mentorship initiative, boosts grad school experience by 25% and quality of life by 28% for BIPOC and first-generation students.

Several authors including MOSAIC co-founders and ColumbiaPopFam professors Stephanie Grilo, PhD, and Goleen Samari, PhD, MPH, published the finding. They said the program could be "transformative" in building a workforce to overcome health disparities. ow.ly/cZBl50PgCMk

At the departmental seminar yesterday, we were able to learn more from Manaswi Sangraula, PhD, MPH, about integrating mental health interventions into community-based organizations. Students were able to discuss how they might apply some of her strategies to their own research.
