For this week's class in Film and Comics, we're watching the 2017 Wonder Woman movie alongside the New 52 Wonder Woman series by Brian Azzarello, Cliff Chiang & Tony Akins, and reading scholarship by miriam kent, Neal Curtis, @CarolynCocca, and Suzanne Scott.

This week, we welcome Ryoko Matsuba from UEA's Sainsbury Institute, who will talk to our students about the place of comics in museums. Ryoko was one of the curators for the incredible 2019 Manga exhibition at British Museum, so we're very excited about this one!


For this week's class in our Film and Comics module, we're discussing politics and transnationalism by watching the 2012 movie Dredd and comparing it to the original comics published in 2000 AD Comics, alongside scholarship by Jochen Ecke, Christopher Murray, and UEA's own Ben Little.






In our Film and Comics module this week, we're looking at global and transnational adaptations by comparing The Adventures of Tintin from 2011 with the original 1943 album The Secret of the Unicorn, and reading scholarship by Ann Miller, Bart Beaty, and Isabelle Vanderschelden.







This week, our in-class guest is Emma Hayley, the Managing Director and Founder of SelfMadeHero, who will talk to our students about the UK comics publishing industry. We're really excited about adding this perspective to our course!
