Incredible to find out that today at Auteuil (25 Oct) that brilliant French jumps trainer Arnaud Chaille-Chaille had his first ever four-timer on a card. However since his first winner in 1992 he has also had 11 three-timers - 9 at Auteuil & 2 at Royan.

Although most of my opinions would be a polar opposite to the ones put forward by the late John Prescott he was, without question, one of the very best deliverers of a “30 second Sound Bite” in broadcasting history. A broadcast reporter’s dream who set the Sound Bite benchmark.

Swedish Broadcaster SVT have announced the 30 Acts who will compete in next year’s Melodifestivalen to find the Swedish song for May’s ESC in Basel. The huge news is that the brilliant MANS ZELMERLOW (won the 2015 ESC with “Heroes”) is back - this time singing “Revolution”.

Excited as my favourite “boutique” race meeting starts tomorrow - the month long / 11 race day - Cagnes-sur-Mer jumps meet. “Championship Day” is on Sunday 5 January featuring the Gp3 GP de la Ville de Nice Steeplechase. Worth following & even better worth a visit via Nice.

If you are planning on playing the “boutique” Cagnes Jumps meeting, which starts tomorrow, this might help. The top trainers, by winners, at last winter’s meet were: M Pitart 14 (first time Cagnes Champion Trainer) Y Fouin 10 (the former multiple Champ) M Seror 9 D Windrif 7

If planning on playing the Cagnes jumps card today here are the top Trainers, by wins, so far this meet after 6 days racing: D Cottin 8 M Seror 7 M Pitart 6 (Reigning Cagnes Champ Jumps Trainer) Y Fouin 5 (multiple Cagnes Champ Jumps Trainer) Top jockey is N Ferreira with 5 wins

The Running Orders for both Eurovision Semi Finals are released this evening (7pm GMT) with 15 countries in SF1 & 16 in SF2. 10 countries will qualify from both SFs to join “The Big 5” & hosts Switzerland in the Final. SF1 is by far the stronger semi.

Mark Johnson (@commentatormark) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Released this evening - SF1 on Tues 13 May & SF2 on Thurs 15 May. The UK, being one of “The Big 5”, automatically qualify for the Final however they will appear between songs 6 & 7 in SF2.

I may be slightly biased but if you would like excellent analysis ahead of the KY Derby you will not find a better horse-by-horse preview than the one written by Rachel Candelora on racingtv.com - FYI the Louisville weather forecast for Derby Day is wet - all day!

OMG what a fantastic piece of handicapping by Rachel Candelora in her KY Derby Preview on racingtv.com Not just the winning top pick but she also hit the straight Trifecta!!!!

Due to a heavy work schedule I am late to comment on this eve’s ESC but home in time to watch it. The Swiss TV producers have put together a running order that greatly favours the “fan favourite” songs - handing them great “draws” eg Sweden 23, Finland 13 etc…..

Mark Johnson (@commentatormark) 's Twitter Profile Photo

ESC Final (pt2) Sweden are quite rightly favourite - the song is clever enough to win Jury votes & has been the fan favourite for months. I hope it wins both with heart & betting interest. I also have Netherlands EW & to finish top 5. Played UK to finish bottom 3 & Germany last.

How time flies - Can’t believe the 5 Epsom Derbys I called on track were High Rise 1998, Oath ‘99, Sinndar 2000, Galileo ‘01 & High Chapparal ‘02 - making me feel a bit old! On the day Sinndar beating Sakhee a length in a big field was the most thrilling.
