Year 4 have had a brilliant recap of their learning of colours in Spanish. We used Blooket to test our knowledge and then wrote our sentences using our key vocabulary.

In Computing, Year 6 have been virtually visiting Egyptian landmarks. They have located these using Google Maps and researched and described these. It has particularly helped to bring some of our History learning to life! #JCAComputing #JCAGeography #JCAHistory

Forming learning links between JCAComputing and DT ⭐️

In Computing, Year 6 have been programming micro:bits and turning them into pedometers. We will continue to learn how to code and will be creating musical toys during DT lessons. #JCAComputing #JCADT

In Computing, Year 6 have been programming our micro:bits to play songs that we can use inside our toys in DT. We have also been practising our matching of equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages. #JCAComputing #JCADT #JCAMaths

Teamwork Jerry Clay Academy ... Our sessions allow children to work together to solve different problems. Children develop their social communication skills whilst working in pairs, sharing ideas and helping one another. We are developing so much more than lego builders. 👏👍🤖💜

In Year 3, we have been working on presenting skills in computing. First, we made a Popplet including facts about one aspect of the Vikings. Next, we created a script including timings and actions. We are looking forward to filming the videos next. JCAComputing 📽️

Year 4 are enjoying their computing unit ‘We are bloggers’. We have discussed different blogs and their purpose and have started to create our own on word. We have worked on editing the font, size and style of the writing and even added or own images JCAComputing #blogging

Year 4 have had a great first day back! They have loved starting their new unit of computing where they are using the app ⁦Inkscape⁩ to create a tessellating pattern. We cannot wait to work on these to create a repeating pattern using different shapes and colours.

Year 5 have excelled in Computing this afternoon. They designed and created a space game using PowerPoint. They have developed their knowledge of hyperlinks and used them within their games. JCAComputing

It's been brilliant to meet so many new children and parents today at the Jerry Clay Academy Summer Fair. I've loved chatting with the parents of the children who attend our after-school club there too. It's great to hear how much your children love coming to the club on a Friday.
