Gov. Lamont just threatened to veto our #UIforStrikingWorkers legislation. This veto threat sends a clear message: Gov. Lamont is more concerned with protecting corporate profits than supporting the working people who make our economy run. Ed Hawthorne

The State House just passed UI for Striking Workers! The passage of this bill in both chambers with a bipartisan vote marks a critical victory for working people. Now it's on Gov. Lamont to do the right thing. He can either stand with corporate CEOs or stand with working people.

The Machinists' strike was about more than protecting a paycheck. It was about protecting our community. We should empower working people to take on these fights. I wrote about it for the Courant. Connecticut AFL-CIO IAM Union AFL-CIO ✊ courant.com/2025/06/02/opi…

We applaud the CT legislature for protecting working families by passing SB8, which allows striking workers access to unemployment insurance after striking for 2 weeks. Governor Ned Lamont must stand with workers and sign it into law. Urge him to do so here: bit.ly/4mLpyQ5

At this moment, Hartford is nearly 80 paraeducators short, a staggering number caused by one simple but devastating truth: the wages are not livable. AFT Connecticut AFT ❌👑 courant.com/2025/06/02/opi…

Members of CWA Local 1298 are rallying for a fair contract at Frontier! Just as it was with the IAM strike at Pratt, job security is one of the biggest issues. But management has been purposefully dragging their feet for over 9 months. These workers deserve a fair contract now!

Let’s be clear: ICE injured and detained the president of SEIU California for peacefully observing. ICE picked the wrong side. The wrong state. The wrong person. and the wrong union. David Huerta stood up. And 750,000 SEIU workers are standing with him. seiuca.org/press-releases…

Gov. Lamont has vetoed #UIforStrikingWorkers and once again sided with corporate CEOs over the hardworking people of Connecticut.

Horrible policy to veto UI for striking workers. At this moment when collective bargaining and workers' rights are under attack federally, Democratic state leaders have to stand up and help working people, not side with CEOs. Terrible, wrong decision.
