One of the best decisions I’ve ever made was to do my Postdoc training here! New members will have get to have fun and be productive. More importantly Suzanne Devkota and IBD at Cedars-Sinai will care about you as an individual and not an extra pair of hands. Highly recommend 😊

Happy to see that the fruits of our labor is finally out Nature Communications!

Wrapping up my postdoc life was a bittersweet moment. But with the blessings from Suzanne Devkota and IBD at Cedars-Sinai, I am thrilled to announce my new role as the Director of Microbial Genomics CoLab The Benioff Center for Microbiome Medicine at UCSF! Check out our newsletter and attached link for more details😊

My way of giving back to the research community is mentoring budding scientists. This summer I have the privilege of working with high school students from underserved communities as part of the The Benioff Center for Microbiome Medicine at UCSF internship program! So proud of their progress in the past 3 weeks ☺️

Our inaugural The Benioff Center for Microbiome Medicine at UCSF summer internship was a success😄The girls learned so much about early life nutrition x microbiome interactions within 4 weeks and performed experiments with high accuracy! Very proud to be part of their academic and career development. #womeninstem

All UC San Francisco trainees, staff, and faculty can apply for research funds via our Microbiome Research Program. Deadline for proposals is Sept. 28. More info and apply at tiny.ucsf.edu/EUSXsU.

IgG-seq featured in this paper is a really cool method developed by Ivan Vujkovic-Cvijin, please check it out! We hope this approach can help us better understand which gut microbes translocate across the mucosal barrier and activate systemic immune responses.

Looking for an exciting opportunity in a new Institute for Geographic Information Science and Doudna Lab initiative under the guidance of 2 exceptionally talented scientists Brady Cress and Rubin Lab? Pls apply! You will interface on diverse collab projects incl human translational studies w/ our lab.

Microbiome meets gene editing. Our director, Sue Lynch, LynchLab has joined forces with @doudna_lab and Jill Banfield from Institute for Geographic Information Science at UC Berkeley to manipulate the gut microbiome to treat and prevent childhood asthma. ucsf.edu/news/2023/06/4…
