Celebrating 90 years: What an upgrade! In 1988, our integrated Co-op Refinery Upgrader came on stream. The first heavy-oil upgrader in Canada continues to play an important role in our ability to Fuel Western Canada.

Celebrating 90 years: We built on the legacy of our predecessors with the completion of our Section IV Refinery Expansion Project in 2003. The initiative increased our typical crude processing rates to more than 90,000 barrels per day.

Celebrating 90 years: On Nov. 1, 2007, we purchased the Government’s share of the NewGrade Energy Incorporated Heavy Oil Upgrader and our facility became 100 per cent co-operatively owned.

ICYMI: It was a celebration more than 90 yrs in the making! In late June, we hosted an event @ our Refinery to celebrate our 90th anniversary. Festivities included a barbecue lunch, remarks from FCL & Refinery leaders, & other notable guests, & a whole lot of team building!

Congratulations to our very own, Chelsea Whiteside (pictured) and Kelly Herdin, who recently won an IABC Gold Quill Award for their work on our Co-op Essentials launch! Each year, these awards recognize the outstanding achievements of communications professionals worldwide.

DYK? Each day, between 200 and 250 trucks come in and out of our facility to load up and ship our fuel products. Combined with our rail and pipeline, this allows us to distribute approximately 17 million litres of our petroleum products every day. We Fuel Western Canada.
