Was saddened to hear about Stuart Gordon's passing. Re-Animator and From Beyond are insane classics, but his filmography is chock full of hidden gems like the darkly funny Dolls, the delightfully overwrought Pit and The Pendulum, and the gruesomely atmospheric Dagon.

Season 3 of TNG is a huge leap in quality. It's also a great show to watch in quarantine - optimistic, hopeful, and every 10th episode is about how a virus can be defeated with teamwork. Fav eps. BOBW, Yesterday's Enterprise, Who Watches the Watchers, The Defector, Offspring

Haunting of Bly Manor might not hit the dizzying narrative heights and extreme scares of Hill House, but while that show faltered ever so slightly in the last couple of episodes, Bly nails the ending. It goes for a lot of emotional gut punches and delivers. I'm a wreck.

Very late to the party, but Midnight Mass is incredible. Slow burn horror done right, with one Hell of a finale. It's like Salem's Lot filtered through an apocalyptic elegy. One emotional gut punch after another. Just great, great work.

While watching The Power of the Dog I was very mixed on it, but I have really enjoyed thinking about it after the fact. It's got a lot going on that doesn't become apparent until it all plays out. I love movies you have to sit with before you really get a handle on them.

Really loved Archive 81 on Netflix. Genuinely creepy. Incredibly ambitious. Lots of twists and turns. And full of heart without getting saccharine. Here's hoping a season 2 announcement comes sooner than later.
