#OnThisDayInHistory in 1910, the Cloakmakers' strike began, led by the ILGWU. This massive walk-out fought for fair wages and safer conditions, resulting in the "Protocol of Peace" that set new labor standards in the garment industry. #cloakmakerstrike #ilgwu #laborhistory

E.B. White, Cornell alum and author of Charlotte’s Web, was born July 11, 1899. Fun fact: when Conan O’Brien was 16, he wrote fan mail to White. Years later, archivists from Cornell University Library found Conan’s letter in White’s collection. See more: rmc.library.cornell.edu/EAD/htmldocs/R…
