Good morning Baltimore🖤💛. This is my favorite street to celebrate independence - today there is going to be a big announcement in Baltimore County for their Inspector General - I hope Baltimore County will realize the importance of an independent IG like Baltimore City ✨

Press release: Tonight, I will be introducing legislation to amend the Baltimore County Charter to establish an inspector general appointment board. If approved by a supermajority vote of the County Council, the charter amendment will appear on the November 2026 ballot.

Earlier today, Baltimore County Izzy Patoka held a news conference talking about his legislation to amend the county charter to create an advisory committee, similar to Baltimore City. I spoke with Councilman Patoka about his legislation last month. foxbaltimore.com/news/local/ami…

“County residents have called on Klausmeier to reappoint Madigan to the role. “Madigan said she supported Patoka’s bill, adding that the current process for appointing an inspector general is political, and the office needs to remain independent.” baltimoresun.com/2025/07/07/bal…

“Izzy Patoka proposed establishing an IG Appointment Board. “Patoka's proposal would create a seven-member independent board responsible for appointing and reappointing the county's Inspector General, insulating the process from political influence.” cbsnews.com/baltimore/news…

Thanks to FOX Baltimore for having me in studio to discuss the legislation I introduced to create an appointment board to select the Baltimore County inspector general. When national politics feels more divided than ever, we can lead by example locally. foxbaltimore.com/fox45-in-depth…

Snowball Saturdays in Baltimore County! Today’s stop: Beyond Ice on Liberty Road in Randallstown. The flavor: Mango topped with marshmallow. I highly recommend it.

It wouldn’t be a Baltimore County snowball tour without a stop at Kona Ice of Central Baltimore County! Joni Elmore and her family operate the Parkville-based Kona Ice stand and truck. Thanks to Joni for the delectable egg custard snowball topped with marshmallow — a fan favorite

I spoke with Izzy Patoka Patoka on FOX45 News In Depth with Mikenzie Frost about his independent IG appointment board bill, and his support for Kelly Madigan. "Kelly is a changemaker. Sometimes changemakers have a difficult time in government itself, but they are necessary."

Tonight, I attended a community meeting about the future of the Catonsville Armory, once considered for a state-run cannabis incubator. I am confident that the Catonsville Armory project will be what local residents determine is the best use for the entire community.

On Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., I’ll be live on WBAL NewsRadio 1090 and FM 101.5 with Clarence Mitchell IV, known as C4, to discuss the selection process of the Baltimore County inspector general. From the beginning, I have stood firm in my support of Kelly Madigan being reappointed to her position.
