Really successful day WCP2023 . Everyone loved the RecepTour pharmacology board game. Thanks British Pharmacological Society for funding the development. Since ‘unboxing’ seems to be a thing, here’s ours.

Zoom in & see a caterpillar’s internal organs! This one was segmented from raw MRI data provided by GEMRIC UofG MVLS The data went through ImageJ, Slicer3D, Maya, Substance Painter & Sketchfab. View the 3D model here, skfb.ly/oJYLN Created by xrlifescience.com

Another fabulous MRI dataset from GEMRIC UofG MVLS Tarantula with internal abdominal structures. 3D processing by XR Life Science (xrlifescience.com). Check out the 3D model on Sketchfab at skfb.ly/oK9AA

A 10Gb volume of mitochondria (brown) segmented from a block of EM data. The processing (using machine learning) was done on the UofG MVLS Advanced Research System (MARS). Having an account on MARS just feels kinda cool. Follow me for more pictures from MARS 👽

A great day out at University of Birmingham giving the Keynote at #LifeSci3D and then demonstrating some VR Spinal Cord content.

This has to be said. Without the massive victory of 2018 - which many in our own union refused to acknowledge and celebrate - we would be on fully defined contribution pensions now and there would have been nothing to save. Victory to the workers in 2018 and again in 2023!

Another 3D model added to the XRLS (xrlifescience.com) Sketchfab collection. This time a Femur. A bit heavy at 1M polys but it’s down to 85Mb having started at around 45Gb when it came off the Micro CT Scanner. skfb.ly/oSCKM You should see this one in #VR 🔬😎

It was a real honour to deliver the Keynote today at the #UofGTechConf Amazed but never surprised at the knowledge and expertise that UofG techs contribute. Fabulous posters.

A new 3D model added to the XR Life Science sketchfab collection. This one took a while! A muscarinic (M3) receptor with bound fluo-pirenzepine within a lipid bilayer. It's a single frame from a 96ns molecular dynamics simulation. (skfb.ly/oX8qW)

Just pirenzepine arriving at a Muscarinic receptor, hanging around for a bit and then leaving. Think I got lucky with this MD simulation. Full disclosure. One half is a backwards movie (the arrival). Fallen down a rabbit hole with this MD stuff!
