Two PhD opportunities are available in our group. If you're keen to discover how cyst nematodes can survive dormant for >20 years, then take a look at "Live long & prosper": findaphd.com/phds/project/l… with chriswestlab.

An understanding of the natural decline of #nematodes is likely to become more and more important for crop protection going forwards. Prof Urwin and Co. do great research and are a pleasure to work with. This is a good opportunity for prospective nematologists AHDB Potatoes

🥔🥔🥔Great meeting this week with Produce Solutions The Potato Partnership CUPGRA Hearing from Dr Bill Watts looking at how varieties perform +/- nematicide in his stratified PCN resistance and tolerance trial. Thanks to Nigel Adams for hosting and sharing his Regen steps in potatoes

It’s that time of the year when we select our new varieties bred by JHI. Some very promising crosses including this Tyson x Karelia beauty! James Hutton Institute

#CommonwealthPotatoCollection James Hutton Institute; an incredible resource and treasure trove of R genes 🧬 a lot of work goes into identifying these genes and then working them into varieties such as those in our development programme and portfolio GreenvaleAP Greenvale Seed

191 #potato trial plots lifted last week between the showers; 33 plots graded and defect assessed. Not a bad effort from the Produce Solutions team. Great to see some positive yields in our #PotatoCystNematode (#PCN) tolerance and resistance screening trial!

Great to have placed a wireworm trial on a wireworm site, but 178 holes on a single tuber is perhaps a bit too good #wireworm Produce Solutions
