The Senate of Kenya has invited public views on the draft Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2024 that seeks to, among other things extend the term limit of elected leaders including the President from 5-7 years.

Some of the effects of the proposed amendments will include an increase in oversight role of the Senate, creation of the office of the Prime Minister, 7 years term for elected leaders and increases in county revenue allocation from 15% to 40%
