🚨 The Government has just announced that free school meals eligibility will be expanded to cover all children living in households that receive Universal Credit. This is a very positive move, marking a significant step towards taking hunger out of the classroom 👇🧵

Not much change since last year in GCSE results today. Regional gaps wide but unchanged;gap between state and private sector narrowed slightly after an increase last year. Main trend is grammar schools continuing to pull ahead of both comprehensives and private schools since 2019

Great piece on Progress 8 and measuring school performance in Tes magazine. We should take this opportunity to bring in a measure that better captures the context a school is achieving in, while not losing sight of high standards: tes.com/magazine/analy…

Power structures in this country are still dominated by a small group of people. 1️⃣ The 7% who go to private schools 2️⃣ The roughly 1% who go to Oxford or Cambridge for university This is especially true for those who attend both private school and Oxbridge 👇
