Gap Cave is closed for the season! Our bats have been observed swarming—a period of increased activity in the months leading up to hibernation. In the interest of visitor safety—and to avoid disturbing the bats --tours of Gap Cave are canceled until next spring.

Skylight Cave is closed to visitors. Cave closures are necessary to protect our bats, as they are in critical condition because of White nose syndrome. While Skylight Cave is closed, the Lewis Hollow trail remains open.

The visitor center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, for staff to spend time with their friends and family. All trailheads and roads in the park will remain open for you to enjoy the park. You can find maps on Thanksgiving Day on our website at: nps.gov/cuga/index.htm.
