Our penultimate #CurlewAdvent for 2024 is a gut-wrenching one: the Slender-billed Curlew. This photograph was taken in Yemen taken in 1984 by RF Porter, with the species likely going extinct around 1995.

We finish our 2024 #CurlewAdvent on a note of hope. With so much fantastic conservation work being undertaken to help Curlews both in the UK and elsewhere, our Christmas wish is for a great 2025 breeding season
