Today, Nicola from Eco Schools visited to present a special 30 yr anniversary award. We did a fun presentation, quiz, tour and litter pick. We received this certificate because we’ve had 10+ Green Flags and were the first high school in Scotland to achieve Green Flag status! ♻️

The fast fashion industry produces 92 million tonnes of waste every year. 85% of textiles go to landfill releasing greenhouse gases. Buy 2nd hand, clothes-swap, mend, buy ethical brands. When you’re finished with your clothes, hand them to charity shops or recycle at textile bin!

If we continue to use and dispose of plastic at current rate, there will be more plastic than fish in the sea by 2050. Please carry a reusable bag for your shopping. Keep bags in the car for groceries. Recycle soft plastics in supermarkets or in our special bin at school! ♻️

☀️Free Company trip - fascinating! Regenerative sustainable organic farm-to-plate philosophy. Tour of restaurant, kitchen, live stock in the biodiverse fields, beautiful veg gardens. We saw busy bees in apiary, patted the sheepdogs, ate raw garlic & even got a butchery demo! ☀️

Our S4 Art & Design students had fun at Jupiter Artland this week touring incredible installations, exploring beautiful grounds and creating their own Andy Goldsworthy-inspired artwork in the woodlands. Lots of in-depth, thoughtful responses and some lovely group work. 🌿
