What the fresh hell. This is REAL. Filmed in 1958- about a conman who grifts a small town of suckers into building a wall. History not subtle enough for you? GUESS THE GRIFTER'S NAME (And watch until the end)

My Film Stories British podcast recommendation is back on Friday with an absolute corker! I still have a reasonably long list of Brit movie pods, but I want to feature more women, LGBTQ and podcasters of colour. If you're British & have a movie podcast, get in touch!

The Odessa File (1974): Ronald Neame’s largely convincing Cold War thriller, based on the novel by Frederick Forsyth. Set in Hamburg 1963, Jon Voight plays a journalist investigating a society of nazi war criminals. #StillPodcasting

The irony of antivaxers saying they “don’t want to be part of an experiment” without realising they are now the control group.

Basic Instinct. 5 Star. 10PM. Stylish & sexy thriller directed with all his usual excesses by Paul Verhoeven. The movie that propelled Sharon Stone into stardom. Also of note is the excellent music score from Jerry Goldsmith, one of his best. No wonder it's a classic. #thriller

Point Break. BBC 1. 10:40pm. Despite all the praise she receives, Kathryn Bigelow is still underrated . This is one of the best action films of the 90's, with both Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves on top form. Everything about this is class, unlike the poor remake. #keanureeves

Taken. Channel 4. 9:20pm. After watching some of the more recent (and poor) Liam Neeson outings, it's time to return to where it all began. Playing against type, the Irishman made a classic action movie with some of the most quotable lines of the cinematic century. #action

Sweeney! Legend Channel. 10:55pm. John Thaw and Dennis Waterman recreate the roles they made famous in the first of 2 spin off movies. They have to confront policemen on the take, a corrupt government and very dodgy business deals. Thankfully it's very different today! #thriller

The Shining. BBC 2. 11:05pm. Stanley Kubrick's acclaimed horror film, although Stephen King doesn't like it. Full of powerful images and strong performances but does it contain the emotions horror movie need? We spoke at length about this in our podcast episode 112. #horrormovie
