#Cycle4haiti top tip #1: Maintain your bike properly – keep your brakes and chain in good working order, and your tyres well-inflated. Adjust seat height for an efficient and pain-free ride; when seated your leg should be almost straight, with your foot flat on the lower pedal.

#Cycle4haiti top tip #2: Never cycle in the dark without adequate lighting – white for front and red for rear, and always wear luminous clothing such as hi-vis vests, fluorescent armbands and reflective belts so that other road users can see you.

#Cycle4haiti top tip #7: Cycle in a straight line and try to be predictable in your movements -- effective positioning will help you be seen on the road. Don’t use mobile devices or headphones while cycling – stay distraction-free.
