I can’t believe this website has gotten me to care about the #NYCMayor race… No matter what happens, RCV made this a better campaign, focused on more issues and coalition building. Should absolutely be used more often, ESPECIALLY in these crowded field primary races!!!!

I loved watching Stephen Colbert chat with Brad Lander & Zohran Kwame Mamdani about the ‘politics of the future’ — which they embody & I love seeing the #RankedChoiceVoting system delivering collaborative candidates who seek common ground #PoliticsOfTheFuture youtu.be/ClNKD_6ow-g?si…

People want new. People want fresh. People want to see young candidates who have creative messaging and can build community and get people excited about their campaigns. It's not ideology; it's vibe. It's not left vs right. It's old vs new. x.com/CharlotteAlter…

The New York City primary underscores how ranked choice voting promotes unifying candidates, not necessarily moderate ones. Cuomo said he ranked only himself when he voted yesterday, while Mamdani positively engaged with other candidates & had volunteers talking with everyone.

Wondering why New York City hasn’t run any ranked choice voting tallies yet? Its election officials won’t do it quickly this year, but it will before long. Norms are heading toward fast, transparent RCV results: fairvote.org/79-of-jurisdic…

"One turning point in the race.... may have come when Mamdani and Lander struck a deal to endorse each other in the city’s ranked-choice primary. It was a startlingly hopeful vision for Democratic voters, who are looking for reasons to hope." nytimes.com/2025/06/25/opi…

NYC just used #RankedChoiceVoting in its city primaries. FairVote CEO Meredith Sumpter explains how RCV delivered more choice, more competition, and better campaigns for NYC voters. 👀

#RankedChoiceVoting... "shaped the competition from the beginning." It rewarded a campaign style of "doing everything and everywhere," and "requires candidates to work harder... and talk to a broad spectrum of voters."

“If NYC didn't use #RankedChoiceVoting… candidates would've been sniping at each other & pushing each other to drop out so that they don’t split the vote. Instead, they can all run, and I think that’s better for voters.” – Deb Otis nbcnews.com/politics/elect…

See NYTimes on positive incentives in ranked choice voting elections in New York. “[RCV] shaped the competition from the beginning. It rewards a campaign style that played to Mr. Mamdani’s strengths: ever-present, on-the-street, nonstop voter engagement.” nytimes.com/2025/06/26/nyr…

This great The New York Times article shows how #RankedChoiceVoting changes campaigns for the better. It’s not unusual to see rival candidates like Zohran Kwame Mamdani and Brad Lander campaigning side by side. It’s how you build a winning coalition.

Excellent engagement with RCV. The 2 RCV primaries for mayor are the 2nd & 3rd highest in city history: 1989 - 1,080,557 Dinkins defeats Koch 2025 - 1,026,783 (still counting) Mamdani beats Cuomo 2021 - 942,031 Adams wins NYC's 1st RCV primary for mayor
