As many of you may have seen already, longtime CSA member and scholar of Czech and Slovak Studies, Owen Johnson, passed away last weekend unexpectedly. There will be a service in Bloomington next week for those of you in Indiana, info provided by his daughter on his FB page.

Owen did so much for Czechoslovak Studies and for his community. We'll miss him dearly.

I remember well a joint presentation he and I made in 1993 in Ballantine Hall on the transition from Czechoslovakia to Cz R and Slovakia. He was always so encouraging.
