Drivers play a big part in helping with DC’s Vision Zero initiative. Keep your eyes on the road and off your phone. One text or call can wreck it all.

This Easter, don’t let too many hoppy beers land you in pellet court making for a bad hare day. If you carrot all, be a good egg and #DriveSober. 🐰🚔

Every good bicycle ride starts with a helmet, and riding to school is no exception. Before your kids walk out the door, remind them of the importance of wearing a helmet. Learn more: NHTSA.gov/bicyclesafety #BikeToSchoolDay

A fun morning celebrating #BikeToSchoolDay alongside Mayor Muriel Bowser, DC Deputy Mayor for Education, Charles Allen, NHTSA, #TeamDDOTDC, and everyone. As more and more DC residents — are choosing walking, biking, and other options for getting to work or school, having safe routes is our priority.

I want to personally thank the staff Ludlow-Taylor PTO, especially all of the gym teachers at DCPS that are teaching the cornerstone curriculum for all DCPS 2nd grade students. Safety is paramount to us DDOT DC. This is a big step that helps our Vision Zero efforts.

Thanks to Mayor Muriel Bowser investments DDOT DC bought 1,000 new bikes for DC Public Schools on National Walk, Bike & Roll to school day. We also closed of the streets at 8 different schools (one in each ward) for our Safe School Streets pilot. A big step for safety.

#DC, if you’re sipping a potion, drinking something boo-zy 👻, or indulging in a witch’s brew, DON’T get behind the wheel. Call a sober friend, rideshare, or taxi—to get you home safely & ensure your #Halloween fun doesn’t end in a nightmare 😱. #BuzzedDriving is drunk driving.
