Just saw there’s discourse (only on Twitter) trying to rag on Sinners. That is wild for what is easily one of the most crowdpleasing and entertaining movies we’ve had in months. Coogler knows how to prepare a full meal. There might be a few flaws to pick, but there’s also this:

I wrote about the devil’s bargain of Remmick in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners and the fork-tongued protestation of “why can’t we all just get along?” denofgeek.com/movies/sinners…

Donald Trump sees movies from "foreign lands" as a national threat so grievous that he wants to use tariffs to derail the film industry for our protection. Still I think there's at least one UK-based movie he'd love about a leader who always got his way... denofgeek.com/movies/movie-f…

Congratulations to Pope Leo XIV, but while everyone is talking about how this is our first American pope, I have to ask: How can we forget Pope Scotty I?

Beginning this trailer (and presumably the first act of hte movie) with a cute riff on Christopher Reeve's best moment in the O.G. Superman is smart and gets you to immediately lean in. If the marketing is to be believed, this thing has got the juice.

I had the chance to speak with Michael and Danny Philippou about their new A24 horror movie, Bring Her Back, and some of their most surprising influences... including that time Nathan Lane battled a mouse in the '90s 👀 denofgeek.com/movies/philipp…

There's some debate over Ballerina, which can be uneven, shameless franchise extension... but it also has wall-to-wall Stahelski action in the back half where Ana de Armas enters a flamethrower duel and smashes plates on her enemies heads like a deadly Three Stooges. I was happy.

My chat with Wes Anderson, including why he's now interested in making a musical and how he ended up thinking of Boris Karloff in The Mummy while directing Benicio del Toro... denofgeek.com/movies/wes-and…

Wes Anderson has interest in making a musical: "I'd love to. My daughter loves musicals. I started to get more interested because of her. Like Meet Me in Saint Louis now is a favorite...But I wouldn’t even know how to begin. But maybe that’s a good thing?" denofgeek.com/movies/wes-and…

So the President of the United States is deploying the marines against his fellow American citizens. Let that sink in. We creep ever closer to midnight... or maybe we're galloping toward it.

I guess when Trump said George W. Bush invading Iraq was "the single worst decision ever made" and that it was "throwing a big fat brick into a hornet’s nest," he meant it as a challenge for himself. thehill.com/homenews/admin…
