🎄What a fantastic day we all had yesterday attending the Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust Together Carol Concert 🎶 at Ely Cathedral. It was a beautiful service & we are so proud of Harry for delivering his wonderful reading from John 1.1-14 for all to enjoy. Thank you to Ely Cathedral for having us.

Yesterday, year 6 invited their parents/carers into school so they could read a short narrative to them. The children were so excited to be able to read to their adults some of their own work! Despite the gruesome nature of the stories, the smiles filled the room 📖📝 Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust

In just 5 days, applications for the cohort 2 of East100 will close. But what is it? East100 is, at its simplest, a leadership course. You’ll join a cohort of 20 leaders from different phases/settings for a year of development activities, in preparation for your first headship.

So it’s more than a leadership course really. It’s a mission. A movement. We believe that collection action is the only thing that will shift the dial on this for all children in the East of England. No single headteacher is going to solve the disadvantage gap on their own.

Jon Hutchinson (@jon_hutchinson_) 's Twitter Profile Photo

And the gap is a big problem. Children from underserved communities in the east of England enter primary school almost 6 months behind their more affluent peers. By the end of KS4, disadvantaged pupils are on average two years behind their more affluent peers.

Headteachers are extremely well placed to address this challenge through improving educational outcomes. But headteachers can also act as civic leaders, understanding the assets and needs of the community that they serve, and coordinating responses to meet specific challenges.

Now, more than ever, we need headteachers who are relentless in improving the outcomes for children who need it the most. That’s why we’re investing in the next generation of headteachers in the region. People, we hope, like you.

Jon Hutchinson This is such a career changing opportunity. The network of incredible individuals I’ve met has been invaluable and the knowledge I’ve gained has developed me significantly as a leader. If you are considering headship, please do apply and drop me a DM if you’d like to know more

Yesterday, Y5 went to an RE roadshow hosted by St Philips Centre. It helped them learn how people from different backgrounds can live kindly and peacefully together. Peterborough is the perfect place for it, with its amazing, diverse communities! #ReligiousEducation
