Roger Seheult, MD To think humans, and all life on earth, did not evolve to maximally make use of sunlight -our greatest source of energy on earth -is bizarre.

Leaves reflect long wavelength light and thereby amplify the positive effects of long wavelength light on mitochondrial function. This is a non-trivial (positive) effect. Roger Seheult, MD on the Huberman Lab podcast out now (full length here X & all other platforms).

Exposing your skin to long wavelength light from sunlight or red/IR device can significantly improve your blood glucose regulation. Wild! but makes sense given its impact on mitochondria and metabolism. Roger Seheult, MD on the Huberman Lab podcast out now.

The brain is full of mitochondria! But how many, and where? Different types of mitochondria specialize for energy transformation and other functions In MitoBrainMap v1.0 we provide the first maps of mitochondrial content and OxPhos capacity across the human brain

Shhhhh! They are catching on! Can Sunlight Cure Disease? Sunshine may hold healing rays for a variety of autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis. Scientists are turning this surprising discovery into treatments scientificamerican.com/article/surpri…

🚨"Visual performance of those working under standard LED is significantly improved by exposure to incandescent lighting that has a spectrum similar to daylight with an extensive infrared component." This is the conclusion of a new study that hasn't even been published or peer

The theory now is that longer wavelengths of light specifically from sunlight restore membrane potential in your mitochondria, whereas shorter wavelengths of light (such as from LEDs) reduce it. This needs testing, but it’s intriguing & brings together a lot of data.

Few people know this When red light (630-750nm) reaches your cells, it's absorbed by mitochondria (your cellular power plants) through an enzyme called cytochrome c oxidase. This increases ATP production, essentially giving your cells an energy boost. The results? • Faster

Andreas Mueller Lots of correlation studies until recently, where we actually have a number of randomized control trials showing causation: Chopped four days off of hospital admission for Covid patients sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Improved color vision in a randomized control trial

Days are getting shorter in the Northern Hemisphere. That means it is time for influenza. It doesn't have to be that way according to a Harvard Study. Making time for sunshine can reduce you chance of getting the flu:

Dr. Glen Jeffery spent over a decade studying how light affects mitochondria. Blue LEDs impair them so severely, he won't get ethical approval to test it on humans. Red & infrared do the opposite—improving vision & significantly lowering blood glucose. Here's what he found: 🧵

Magnesium Threonate (or Bisglycinate) supplementation can help protect against hearing loss. Also the best treatments for tinnitus. Discussed on the Huberman Lab podcast out now with Dr Stankovic MD, PhD, of Stanford University (She is Chair of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery).

This new paper blows my mind! I have been aware for a long time that glyphosate usage on core crops over time is strongly correlated with the rise in diabetes and obesity prevalence in the US. This paper reveals the mechanism - glyphosate suppresses Akkermansia in the gut, and

NIR light → targets mitochondrial bound water (not CCO) → • Expands water layers → better nutrient flow • Reduces viscosity → ATP synthase spins faster • Result: Faster healing, less oxidative stress

Tendons work closely with circadian rhythms. Tendons cleans itself & repairs on a schedule that is heavily intertwined with light. This trend is popular now with overall health but it is *actually* essential for elite joint health. Many joint pains are health habit related.
