A week after wrapping up the 1998 Summer Tour, DMB performed in Universal City, CA at the MTV Video Music Awards. The band was joined by Béla Fleck, The Lovely Ladies and Tim Reynolds for this performance of Stay.

Away From The World was was released on September 11, 2012 (13 years ago today). DMB’s 8th studio record was mainly recorded at Studio Litho in Seattle between January and May 2012, marking the band’s first collaboration with producer Steve Lillywhite since BTCS (1998).

On November 13, 2010, Vusi Mahlasela joined the band for Everyday, the very song he lent his voice to on the studio album. The same show featured the first time #41 > Say Goodbye opened a show since 1996 and the first mid-set Christmas Song at a full-band show since 1995.

On November 26, 1991, DMB debuted The Maker at Trax in Charlottesville. The Daniel Lanois original would grow into one of the band’s most beloved covers The most recent full-band performance took place during Night 3 at The Gorge earlier this year (with Rick Mitarotonda).
