There’s no room for fear in our community. I am meeting with stakeholders across Dallas to reassure them we’re here to serve and protect all Dallas residents, and are committed to enforcing city ordinances and state laws.

No Chief ever wants to receive the heartbreaking notification that one of their officers has fallen in the line of duty. My thoughts and prayers are with the Virginia Beach Police Department, Chief Neudigate, and the families of Officers Christopher Reese and Cameron Girvin.

Tonight, I was privileged to break bread with members of our Muslim community observing Ramadan. Thank you to the Dialogue Institute of Dallas for your support of our Department! I especially enjoyed meeting Ahmed, a retired Chief of Police from Istanbul.

Serving as your interim Chief of Police has been a great privilege. I am proud to call myself a Dallas Police Officer, and I look forward to welcoming Chief Comeaux to Dallas and our Department.
