Curious question for #academictwitter: I'm a journal editor, and I notice that on acceptance, less than half of our authors provide requested "plain-language summaries" for their manuscripts. I'd love to hear various reasons why - from the obvious to the nuanced. And ... go!

Many papers incorrectly report p-values. Statcheck is software that recomputes a paper's p-values to check for inconsistencies. When four major psych journals implemented it as part of the peer review process, the number of published inconsistencies declined and stabilized.

New paper out with Raimund Pils! We propose a new solution to the crises facing the social sciences: removing the discussion sections. We argue that they harm honest scientific reporting and would provide epistemic benefits if outsourced from the standard article. More below!
