It’s now the turn of Garry P. Duffy DRIVE 4 diabetes coordinator is presenting data on the live implants and delivery devices developed in the frame of DRIVE project TERMIS_EU_2019 h2020research4diabetes.eu Horizon 2020 Impact in H2020 #T1D #islet #transplantation

Excellent symposium on biomaterial approaches to improve cell delivery for T1D TERMIS-EU today. Thanks Elastislet for organising, Eimear Dolan for chairing & Liam McDonough for presenting for the DRIVE 4 diabetes. Also great to see DRIVE partner Wim Hennink give a plenary!

Scott Robinson doing a great job presenting exciting work on a therapeutic intraperitoneal reservoir and minimally invasive delivery system as part of DRIVE 4 diabetes #TermisEU2019

A fine send off indeed! Scott Robinson and Adina will be sorely missed in the Duffy Lab Garry P. Duffy

Our newest Duffy Lab @DRIVE4diabete collaborative paper with the teams at Schenke-Layland Lab & @pe_loskill labs led by Aline Zbinden. Human pancreas-on-a-chip providing continuous monitoring of endocrine function. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Also out is a 2nd DRIVE 4 diabetes collaborative paper showing sustained release of VEGF from multiblock copolymer microspheres for 4 wks. This work was led by Utrecht University in collaboration with industry partner Innocore Pharmaceuticals & our group NUI Galway Medicine pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.102…

The Duffy lab NUI Galway Medicine is going to miss Scott Robinson as he continues his vascular surgical training Michigan Surgery Thanks to EDGE Research & AMBER for funding his stay & @scienceirel for supporting our iCORPs adventures. All the best Scott Robinson

Another one for the office wall. The DRIVE 4 diabetes project came to an official end today. A fantastic collaborative 4 yrs with exciting outputs on the way. Big thks to Janice O'Sullivan & Fabio Ugolini for steering the programme to successful completion! #simpleisbetter

Very excited to share our latest paper that was just published in Science Robotics where we describe our actuatable soft reservoir to modulate the foreign body response Garry P. Duffy Ellen Roche MIT BioMEC robotics.sciencemag.org/content/4/33/e…

Such an exciting publication and fantastic work describing a dynamic soft reservoir that reduces the foreign body response. Congratulations to all involved, senior co-authors Garry P. Duffy @nuigalway and Ellen Roche MIT Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and first author Eimear Dolan and everyone else on the team!

This was day 1 of our 1st DELIVER network wide training event. Thank you to Helena Kelly Seona Rossi and Liam McDonough of @RCSIPharmacy for their excellent Advanced Drug Delivery Workshops for our DELIVER ITN PhD students!

Well done presenting your great work Microscopy Society of Ireland🔬 annual symposium Ruth Levey

Congratulations to Karina from Utrecht University @UUPharmaceutic for defending her PhD thesis "Vascularisation of Diabetes-Reversing Implants"! Karina and Utrecht University are part of the DRIVE consortium

Our latest article was just published in Advanced Healthcare Materials which describes our Implantable Therapeutic Reservoir System for Diverse Clinical Applications. Congrats to all of the team!! 👩🔬🧑🔬 onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ad… Garry P. Duffy Scott Robinson Ellen Roche MIT Helena Kelly
