Today brought me so much BLACK Joy Downsview Secondary BLACK BRILLIANCE conference. Seeing over 200 Ss from over 30 high schools talking & sharing about what matters to them was inspiring.. There are so many positive things happening in many of our Toronto District School Board schools. Student voice matters

The theme "Nurturing our Melanated Minds" highlights the greatness & brilliance of Black students. The energy in the rooms gave me life. This was a student led conference which took many months of planning & collaboration with the support of SEPAs Kevin & Amita as well as staff.

Shout out to the student facilitators from Westview Centennial SS C.W. Jefferys C.I. Newtonbrook SS Winston Churchill CI Africentric Program Auburn Eagles for leading these 11 workshops.
