On students moving house, exception 15 hasn't changed. So students who study away from home are legally allowed to move (back) to their student housing as long as they do so before 8th February 2021.

Student accommodation is expensive. The Government need to announce a scheme for students who are paying £££ for accommodation they cannot use. There’s enough burden on students as it is.

So glad that Michelle has time to make Twitter threads of very little value, but not enough time to reply to countless student representatives who have written to her.

This entire thread is embarrassing, misleading and a clear attempt to deflect responsibility. Why have a Universities Minister if you just expect Universities to self manage???

Last night a funeral service I couldn't attend in person was streamed into my flat. I did emails straight after. So, I just wanted to remind people that officers are humans with private lives, emotions, and not everything they do/say is open for public consumption & ridicule.

We are the last generation who will be able to hear a Holocaust survivor speak - it is more important than ever that we carry forward their memories. Society is still scarred by the belief that difference makes some people's lives worth less than others. (1/2)

I've been reflecting on hardship funds and a lot of students who are apprehensive about accessing it because they don't qualify themselves as being in enough hardship to ask for that help. This is both sad and dangerous because it perpetuates a culture where students go into...

their overdraft or wait until they're in dire straits, going further into hardship to feel 'worthy' of support. It's vital that unis are proactive in encouraging students to access that fund, & are working w/ SUs to make accessing that fund as empowering & accessible as possible
