Bob Nystrom of the Islanders scored the Cup clincher in 1980 in OT. It was 16 years later that the next OT Cup clinching goal happened, 1996, by former Isles defenseman Uwe Krupp vs former Isles goalie John Vanbeisbrouck. Only 4 OT Cup winners scored since '96. #myresearch

I might be biased, but Shireen Starman still was the reporter I liked watching and listening to on Detroit Tigers telecasts on what used to be FS Detroit. However, I get to hear her insights on Tigers baseball daily over dinner so I win either way. :)

Kind of felt for Sabalenka today. I said to Shireen mid match "the issue with her is she has no poker face, when she is pissed the whole stadium knows it. Opponents pounce on it." Frustration is an energy drainer mentally and physically, wonder how much that played in today.

I was speaking at a coaching clinic in Rochester about a decade ago and Metter was a part of it. Took the group to a great place for dinner and drinks and could not have been more welcoming to all of us. Lot of laughs. Sad to hear this news.
