The Central Dogma of biology is this wonderfully comforting proclamation of the "rules" - until you realize it's not. Then you realize it's not really dogma at all, then your realize it's even misleading - time to maybe reconsider a better way of describing what we're

This was a lot of effort. A shoutout to Niklas Anzinger 📍 Infinita of Infinita City whose former life in policy work made this Bill a reality, Montana Sen Ken Bogner and The Alliance for Longevity Initiatives (A4LI) for bringing together the team to argue for meaningful access to longevity medicine in the US.

TRIAD — the Test of Rapamycin in Aging Dogs — is the first-ever veterinary clinical trial focused on slowing aging and extending healthy lifespan in companion dogs. I'm so excited to see dogs completing the trial. This moment has been a long time coming. I first envisioned

Google's AI just made math discoveries NO human has! —Solved optimal packing of 11 and 12 hexagons in hexagons. —Reduced 4x4 matrix multiplication from 49 operations to 48 (first advance in 56 years!) and many more. AlphaEvolve is the AlphaGo 'move 37' moment for math. Insane.

„Biology is messy.“ While it is somewhat true, it’s also heavily overused by scientists as excuse to justify that research doesn’t reproduce, or why we haven’t cured diseases yet. But another truth and factor in this issue is that „Humans are messy.“ And this human messiness

Freedom from incentive structures that prioritizes idea generation/narrative over execution would go a long way to restore innovation.

I hate that LLMs have ruined the following: * Very enthusiastic responses * Em dashes (—) * The word "delve" * Consistent punctuation and capitalization All excellent things that are now forever suspect.

Studying aging across the tree of evolution and evolution inspired drug discovery is what’s needed. Model organisms in general mislead on aging and its diseases.

x.com/NXT4EU/status/… François-Philippe Champagne (FPC) 🇨🇦, Mark Carney could we have this please? A cost by service rendered - per capita, then individual contribution, federal contribution, etc. It would give a whole new level of understanding to taxpayers both in terms of CAPEX and OPEX.

Neurodegeneration is one of the most obvious aging related conditions, not to mention trauma related brain injury. Repair and replacement of brain tissue is as cutting edge as it gets, and the pioneers, with suppor of ARPA-H, will changes the lives of so many with their success.
