Today, we're at the High Court for the first day of the legal case against the use of RAF Wethersfield as asylum accommodation. We've conducted medical assessments of people held at the site & witnessed first-hand the harm caused since it opened over a year ago. 🧵 (1/5)

We have provided evidence for the legal challenge showing that the Home Office placed extremely vulnerable people at the site, including victims of torture and trafficking, as well as those with significant mental or physical health issues. (3/5)

Placing people in camp accommodation on ex-military sites is inhumane. It causes additional harm to those who've already experienced oppression, abuse, torture & trafficking. The PM has already committed to closing RAF Wethersfield - this must happen as a matter of urgency. (5/5)
