European External Action Service - EEAS 🇪🇺 MD for Asia & the Pacific Niclas Kvarnström 🇪🇺 wrapped up a productive mission to KL, where he yesterday co-chaired the 9th Malaysia-EU Senior Officials Meeting with Wisma Putra's Dep. Sec-Gen (Bilateral Affairs) Datuk Ahmad Rozian Abd Ghani.

They discussed the whole range of bilateral, regional & global issues of mutual concern.

EU Ambassador to Malaysia, H.E. Rafael Daerr, attended the presentation of the Lumut Maritime Industrial City (LuMIC) Feasibility Study Presentation, co-hosted by EuroCham Malaysia, Perak State Development Corporation (PKNPk), and Port of Antwerp-Bruges International.

During the launch, Ambassador Daerr highlighted LuMIC as 's first Global Gateway initiative, with its first-phase feasibility study funded by the 🇪🇺 and launched in 2024, emphasised its potential to enhance 🇪🇺-🇲🇾 trade relations and foster a sustainable growth partnership.

LuMIC is envisioned to attract up to RM75 billion in strategic investments and generate over 55,000 employment opportunities, underscoring its pivotal role in advancing the shared aspirations sustainable industrial transformation and inclusive economic growth.

A moderated session featuring Amb. Daerr, Mr. Denis Baresch (EU Delegation), and Prof. Hans Genberg (ASB) was expertly led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Renato Lima de Oliveira of Asia School Of Business.
