“Every area of medicine needs a layer of mental health care support.” Damon Tweedy highlights the importance of an integrated care model and how it can save lives. #AfPASummit24

Thank you to Damon Tweedy for joining us for a guest lecture and book signing today! We had a great time learning from you about the importance of centering mental health in medicine!

Thanks to OhioStateDHLRI and The Ohio State University College of Medicine for hosting me on Friday. I had a great series of conversations with faculty and staff. But I always enjoy talking with students the most, as they keep this 50-yr-old feeling a bit younger and a bit better about the future.

Had a great visit yesterday at Yale School of Medicine giving a lecture to Yale Med Humanities about my most recent book "Facing the Unseen". Met several medical students and young doctors who told me my writings encouraged them to enter medicine. So honored.

While I was in town, walked over to Yale Law School where I graduated in 2003. It's amazing to think how this school produces such influential people on opposite sides of politics (Bill Clinton and JD Vance), and the law (Sonia Sotomayor and Samuel Alito).

Join us for The Ethics of Now on March 4! Damon Tweedy and Jeffrey Baker will discuss their new podcast UNHEALED, which focuses on the 1950 case of Maltheus Avery, a young Black veteran who was denied treatment Duke University Hospital. Hayti Heritage Center duke.is/6/j9yq

Thanks to Cone Health for hosting me last week to discuss my most recent book as part of their author series. Great audience of nurses, health administrators, and physicians across a variety of specialties.

Thanks to Boston Children's for hosting me this past week for a series of discussions focused on improving how we provide mental health care to those in need. May is identified as Mental Health Awareness Month, but this is certainly a topic that needs our attention year-round.
