As we fully shift into fall here in NC, several warm-season grasses are expressing disease symptoms. The fog adds a spooky touch to an already spooky sight!

As we approach the halfway point of this lap around the sun, here are some stats from the NC State Turf Diagnostics Lab. It's been a cool and cloudy spring for much of North Carolina, therefore warm-season grasses have had some abiotic issues, particularly zoysiagrass home lawns.

With the recent hot and humid weather in Raleigh, our bentgrass areas are expressing multiple disease symptoms…. Love seeing treatment differences!

Awesome mini-ring pressure in year 2 of a 2-year study looking at the same season-long fungicide program +/- products on an UDB putting green in NC. Want to learn more? Be sure to catch Jim Kerns and Joseph Roberts at the Carolinas GCSA show funded by Rounds 4 Research!

Heads up bermudagrass putting green managers! Mother Nature is calling 'em home in the transition zone and we are starting to see purpling of the foliage due to the cold weather shutting down chloroplast activity.

An eventful day behind the microscope finally confirming isolation of Rapid Blight pathogen L. terrestris + a bonus pic of some gnarly Pythium oospores.

🚨 Heads up tall fescue managers! Active gray leaf spot in 2 trial locations in the Raleigh area this week. QoI’s alone won’t hold this back, so now is the time to add a DMI and/or t-methyl. Given the forecast, we hope you all are on top of this one because damage will be swift.
