Well it’s really happening our first full day of frailty simulation working with our colleagues in Perth and Kinross Council. We are covering frailty identification, falls prevention, delirium identification, escalation of deterioration (whilst staying at home!) and future care planning

Don't jump straight into PowerPoint. Start your presentation prep with pen and paper or a Word document to organise your thoughts clearly. It’s important to outline your key points BEFORE you design your slides.

Doing these simple things well makes such a difference. 👇 I would add: Putting a pCO2 colorimeter in gives you real time feedback on your mask seal and airway position. For those not confident in intubation the iGel (or other SGA) is your friend - use it.

In our latest Simulcast, I interview Victoria Brazil and @gabereedy on translational simulation. It was enormous fun and I think it's a great listen! 186 Advances in Simulation: Translational Simulation Revisited simulationpodcast.com/186-advances-i… via Simulcast

Vital initiative, which given breadth & scope of the pilot, will provide critical learning for programme roll out Terminology important though, this is about responding to caregiver concern, rather than a second opinion. Some current thinking on PEWS: adc.bmj.com/content/108/5/…

One week left on applications for our Paediatric Sim Fellow job at Queensland Childrens Hospital! This is a medical position for advanced Paediatric trainees, ACEM trainees and consultants. It's a dream job with a lovely team smartjobs.qld.gov.au/jobs/QLD-H24CH…

Visually Enhanced Mental Simulations (VEMS) are fast becoming a 'go to' sim technique for efficient, cost effective teamwork sims. Children's Health Queensland have a free VEMS pack for anyone looking to run a paediatric sims. Access here: childrens.health.qld.gov.au/for-health-pro…

Our latest simulation package on paediatric burns is now live and free to download. Our brilliant sim fellow Alexandra St-Onge-St-Hilaire produced a very clever VEMS package that helps teams rehearse burns assessment, referral and resuscitation. #FOAMed childrens.health.qld.gov.au/resources/heal…

Sim education is important, but those moments generate valuable organisational learning about healthcare systems. That data is rarely harnessed effectively for change. Children's Health Queensland 's sim service have done amazing work. Our paper is open access below onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/17…
