WARM AND TOASTY... Inland NJ will come close to 80 degrees today. Hopefully Shore points will crack 60 - darn that springtime on-shore breeze! We'll stay dry and storm-free through about dinnertime tomorrow. Then a line of rain and thunderstorms will roll through tomorrow night.

MILD DAY, STORMY NIGHT... Temperatures should push into the 70s one more time today, with mostly cloudy and breezy conditions. Daytime looks fine. But after about 6pm, we'll have to watch the western sky for a line of gusty, super-soaker thunderstorms.

SEVERE WEATHER POSSIBLE TONIGHT... We really need rain. And we'll get get about a half-inch or more here. But there is a chance these storms pack a windy punch. Technically there is a tornado risk too, but it's low and limited to western NJ. Storm arrival time around 6pm-10pm.

THE VIEW FROM THE TOP... This weekend, I am visiting my alma mater - Cornell University in Ithaca, NY - for alumni events in both my beloved Atmospheric Science department and my beloved WVBR radio station. (More on those later.) This photo is a huge part of the reason I decided

SAT 5:30PM... THUNDERSTORMS INCOMING... This evening is going to get a bit nasty, as a line of thunderstorms rolls west to east across New Jersey. Gusty winds and heavy rain are possible, especially along the western edge of the state. When thunder roars, head indoors!

BRIGHTER, DRIER, COOLER... We still have some lingering rain this morning, but sun should start to break out around lunchtime. There is a slight chance of a late-day shower clipping North Jersey. Good sunshine and pleasant weather ahead for Monday and Tuesday.

STORM SYSTEM #1 OF 3... Spotty showers and t-storms may dampen your Wednesday. Damp and dreary weather at times today. But nothing crazy. Two rounds of steadier, heavier rain may affect outdoor plans this weekend. #WeNeedTheRain nj1015.com/wednesday-nj-w… nj1015.com/wednesday-nj-w…

IT'S RAINING, IT'S POURING... Some spots along New Jersey's southern coast have picked up 3 or 4 inches of rain over the last 24 hours. Wow! The wet weather will let up today and especially tonight. But rain returns with a vengeance tomorrow.

STATEWIDE FLOOD WATCH... We needed rain, we got it. The ground is now saturated, after 3+ inches of rain fell over much of NJ. And with more heavy rain and thunderstorms on the way today, it raises alarm bells for flooding. Coastal flooding a concern for back bays specifically.

RAIN RETURNS TODAY... One more soggy, stormy day. Still some uncertainty whether NJ gets "only" an inch of rain from this round, or more like 2-3". Downpours, gusts of wind, and rumbles of thunder are possible through this evening. Pretty nasty. Nice day tomorrow!

7 INCHES OF RAIN drenched New Jersey over the last three days, putting a (temporary) end to drought and wildfire concerns. I compiled some statistics, including a Top 5 Rainfall list for each NJ county. nj1015.com/soaked-how-muc… nj1015.com/soaked-how-muc…

The roadway is closed in both directions between exits 38 and 63 until further notice because of reduced visibility caused by heavy smoke from the Bass River State Forrest wildfire and dense fog.

The official snowfall observation at Trenton Mercer Regional Airport... Exactly 1 inch! Does that mean Bill Spadea and Eric Scott owe each other a bottle of bourbon? #OverUnderPush New Jersey 101.5
