Andrew & Tristan Tate have been charged with serious offences involving 4 women. Please be aware it takes great courage to report but commenting publicly on social media could impact on court proceedings. Don’t stand in the way of justice. #ThinkBeforeYouPost ā¬‡ļø

The BBC acknowledges the existence of reporting restrictions but doesn't say why they're in place. Public confidence in the justice system requires reporting to be as transparent as possible. That includes explaining why some things can't be reported bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

At the seminar preceding Nicklin J's talk, an observer suggested a red panic button to summon Open Justice Champions. Call the Champion when we haven't received a link for a hearing about to start, or when there's a "Private" sign on the court door. I'm up for that!

Seriously, though, I have questions about the skill-set of the putative Champions. I have lots of experience of the challenges facing would-be observers + I would like to offer (for free!) my help with training Champions. Please get in touch HM Courts and Tribunals Service to arrange this.

A shambles of a policy that will only serve to fuel intergenerational conflict. It's like a group of people plucked a number out of thin after more than a few drinks at the pub

Polly Rippon LA also said "The court may find the justification that [varying the reporting restrictions] is necessary because writing under one's own name rather than a pseudonym 'has greater impact' to be relatively weak" So much for the famous "what's in a name" argument! #OpenJustice

This hearing hasn't been publicly listed (but staff confirm it's going ahead) and there's some serious issues with wrong TO being sent out. Is this something an Open Justice Champion could sort HM Courts and Tribunals Service and where's the red panic button we need to get their help?

Dear @HMCTS staff Thank you for all the help you've given us over the last year - sending us links for remote hearings, forwarding emails to judges, correcting listing errors, advising us on vacated hearings.... This is all vital open justice work & we're grateful!
