As the only regional hospital in Algoma District, the Emergency Department and ER docs support outlying rural ERs throughout the district. The SAH ER docs are always willing to help with patients we need to transfer from Wawa, Thessalon and Blind River. This affects all of us.

It would not be an Ontario ER shift if there were not multiple patients with alcohol related injuries or intoxication. Our province is more focused on getting people drinking and drunk rather than moderation or treatment for those with problem drinking. Reckless.

This is great news that will benefit rural patients! I hope this will streamline the transfer process so that getting our sickest patients out will require fewer phone calls and coordination by the sending team. Thank you Ornge CritiCall Ontario for all you do day in and day out.

The Sault Area Hospital ER supports the entire Algoma District with their MDs accepting our sick patients for additional investigations and management not available at rural hospitals. They’ve kindly accepted pts my last two shifts. These cuts hurt all of us.

Nobody paid attention to this one yesterday so for the people of #RichardsLanding &surrounding area, here it is again. The ER is CLOSED from 8am today until 8am Sun due to physician shortages AKA Doug Ford & Sylvia Jones ’ cruel disregard. We all matter or none of us do.

Is it the same spot that washed out last week closing the highway for 2 days? We need better maintenance. Washouts/flooding with every heavy rain should not be the norm. This highway is a lifeline.
