We travelled CQ to sample 30 sorghum paddocks for validating charcoal rot and Fusarium stalk rot PreDicta B tests. The aim is to develop disease risk categories to make informed decisions for growers in managing these diseases. Study is under the GRDC-funded USQ project on IDM.

We have isolated indigenous Trichoderma spp., and preliminary results have shown potential in minimising sorghum charcoal rot infection when applied as seed treatment.

I was really glad to have attended the #ABARES Regional Outlook Conference last 27 July 2022. Lots of useful information from BOM and ABS relevant to agricultural research. You'll be guided on when to plant, where to plant, what to plant, and who is planting.
