Delighted to be back in New York for International Law Week United Nations and for the launch of my campaign as the 🇬🇧candidate for election as a Judge of the International Court of Justice CIJ_ICJ. Many thanks Ambassador Barbara Woodward for your support!

It was great to spend a few days in Georgetown conducting training sessions on international law for MFA Guyana & lawyers from a range of agencies of the government of Guyana. Such a joy to see the zest for international law from this group of talented public servants.

It was a pleasure to speak at the annual conference of European Commission Legal Service on a general framework for assessing the legality of unilateral sanctions & applying this to discussions relating to the seizure of sovereign assets webcast.ec.europa.eu/annual-confere… (start min: 10.54.00)

Here at the United Nations, I am reminded why I wanted to be an international lawyer and why it is a privilege to be the UK candidate for the CIJ_ICJ. It would be an even greater privilege to serve the Court as a judge and work together to help the ICJ meet the challenges before it today.

It's the start this week of the new term University of Oxford & the return of our PIL Discussion Group seminars. Do join in person (All Souls College is gorgeous in the spring sunshine) or online!
