It was great to spend a few days in Georgetown conducting training sessions on international law for MFA Guyana & lawyers from a range of agencies of the government of Guyana. Such a joy to see the zest for international law from this group of talented public servants.

Many thanks to those who attended, wrote papers for & chaired panels at our Oxford seminar on General Principles of Law. We had a particular focus on the work of the United Nations International Law Commission, which will consider the topic on second (and final) reading this year

Looking forward to being a discussant in the Oxford launch of this book today. This is a foundational topic but one of the most important issues in international law. Congratulations to the authors on the publication of the book. Do join the discussion bsg.ox.ac.uk/events/guide-m…

Here at the United Nations, I am reminded why I wanted to be an international lawyer and why it is a privilege to be the UK candidate for the CIJ_ICJ. It would be an even greater privilege to serve the Court as a judge and work together to help the ICJ meet the challenges before it today.
