Our third TOY finalist is Kimberly Rishell, a 4th grade teacher at Williamsport Elementary. She is one of our District Lead Math Teachers, where her classroom & her teaching strategies serve as a model for implementing curriculum & successfully meeting the needs of all students.

Our next Teacher of the Year finalist is a 2nd grade teacher at Maugansville Elementary, Jennifer Swam! Ms. Swam is another one of our District Lead Math Teachers for the second grade. She has been teaching for over 20 years and with WCPS Maryland for the last 10!

Rounding out our Teacher of the Year finalist announcements is Breanna Calkins, a science teacher at North High. She has 10 years of experience, including 5 at WCPS. She inspires students through engagement, critical thinking, and real-world connections to their lessons.

Congratulations to Marjorie Chapman, our 2025-2026 WCPS Maryland Teacher of the Year! She leads the Cosmetology program at the Boyd J. Michael, III Technical High School. We are so proud to have her leading our students and now representing our community’s teachers!

What a great night! Thanks to the Education Foundation of WCPS for all the ways they support our WCPS Maryland students and staff. This annual fundraising event is a great way to give back to the foundation so they can continue all the incredible work they do.
