A wet month is about to get even wetter. T.S. Bill's remnant showers could add 1-3" to June's current 5.6" tally. FLASH FLOOD WATCH from 8PM
After last night's torrential rains - a record 2.33" at DCA & a whopping 4.26" in Woodbridge - skies are clearing. Partly sunny & hot today
7;79" rainfall to date makes this June the 6th wettest since records started in 1871. Recent soggy Junes incl. 2013 (9.97") & 2006 (14.02")
This June is the wettest month in exactly two years. With 9.18" to date, it is the most rain in a single month since June, 2013 w/ 9.97"
With 1" to 3" of rain possible Saturday, a FLASH FLOOD WATCH will be in effect from tonight thru Saturday; June's rainfall is nearing 10"
A rather soggy Saturday - 1" to 3" rain with flash flooding & strong storms possible - but a sunny, breezy, & milder Sunday w/ highs in 70s.
What a deluge! Record rainfall for June 27 at DCA Reagan (2.75") & BWI Marshall (3.11"). And 2nd wettest DCA June since 1871 with 11.93".
No Yankee Doodle Dandy kind of a day: Mild, misty, & muggy this AM, then scattered showers. But good chance it'll be dry 4 fireworks at 9PM
DENSE FOG ADVISORY 'til 10AM for much of N. VA; Frederick (MD) & parts of Mont. & Howard Counties; & Shenandoah Valley. Pt. Sunny, 83 today
FLASH FLOOD WATCHES canceled for Washington metro area. Moderate/heavier rain falling to south & east this AM, then ending this afternoon.
Coolest morning in a week w/ temps in the 60s! DENSE FOG ADVISORY for central VA 'til 9 AM, then sunshine, lower dew points, near 90 today.
Heavy rain, lightning, high winds along I-81 (Luray, Strasburg, Winchester) this AM. Showers/storms possible across Metro DC later. High: 94
A line of storms packing high winds (to 50 mph) & torrential rain continues to move E into Frederick, upper Montgomery, & NW Howard counties
Steamed up windows this AM evidence of air-conditioned insides meeting hot, humid outsides! HEAT ADVISORY 'til 8PM; High; 98; Index:106.
If DC hits 97 today, it will be hottest day of '15. But highest DC temp ever (since 1871) won't be threatened: 106 on 7/20/1930 & 8/6/1918
Sighs of relief as 90s take a break! Even tho just six 90 days in July to date, avg temp is 81.1. June had twelve 90s, but lower avg., 78.1
We could get used to this! Yet another cool summer morn w/ temps in the 60s. Humidity still in check, but stickier by Sun.; hotter midweek
Our charmed weather lives w/ the low dew points of late are about to change! Look for a noticeably stickier day w/ heat indices in the 90s
This morning's rain was the most that's fallen since way back on July 8th: nearly an inch in Silver Spring; 0.37 in Landover; 0.11 at DCA.
ABC7's weather team - the best ever! - surprised me with cake, champagne, & plenty of love to mark 25 years of forecasting & a career.
