Noting all UHL’s weekend stroke work ineligible for SSNAP: 2 functional, 1 amyloid spell, 3 FAST + seizure/syncope, 2 migraine, 1 capsular warning, 1 subdural, 1 CVT with no infarct. 1 sepsis in old stroke plus 9 in TIA clinic (3 of which infarcts). #StrokeMedicineIsMoreThanSSNAP

Saluatory observation of a middle-aged patient on my ward today: L PACS Nov ‘19, returned last week from apparently unstructured healthcare overseas. So much unrealised potential, yet already making strides here at this later stage #nevertoolate #strokerehabilitationworks

Well done to Lizzie Marrinan and David Turner for an excellent service improvement project! Reducing delays to administration of prothrombin complex concentrate in patients with vitamin K antagonist-related intracerebral haemorrhage: magonlinelibrary.com/doi/abs/10.129…

maths.qmul.ac.uk/~vnicosia/UK_s… Can we dismiss this? Can’t see any of the authors look remotely qualified to advise. Professor in Astronomy, Cardiff University, oh please

So important that people experiencing severe, life / heart/ brain threatening conditions know the NHSE still here for you and has plans in place to support emergency care for people that need need it. We will all continue to do our very best NHS England Stroke Association Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT)

“Isn’t it good news you don’t have [insert specialty-biased private-funded view] disease?”. “Oh yes, doctor. Thank you so much. But can you tell me what the fek I do have?”. “Sorry no”. #DiagnosisDetectives

Hurrah for David Oliver (also on Blue Sky) editorial in this weekend’s BMJ bmj.com/content/373/bm… Now, how can clinical excellence awards reflect? Team-based applications seem an attractive option

I see SSNAP Audit are the latest national #clinicalaudit to be granted an exemption from the National Data Opt-Out. Easier for local trusts in the long run but it would have saved us a lot of time & effort putting plans in place if these exemptions had been obtained sooner! 70 hour week done, strike time. My conscience is clear, there are more consultants covering the wards than there are normally juniors, the patients will be fine. The financial cost of this cover is immense. Alternatively, pay your juniors fairly. #fullpayrestoration
