We have lost one of our greatest DJs Johnny Walker. I listened to his Radio Caroline show (out in the North Sea) every night as a teenager in the 60s. His unique voice and passion for music was his special talent.

The Reggae world is mourning the loss of one of its finest voices, Cocoa Tea died this morning from cardiac arrest in Fort Lauderdale. He leaves behind a catalogue of classic recordings which will forever be played in the pantheon of great Jamaican music. RIP sweet Cocoa Tea.

As a record collector I prize this highly: signed by the teacher himself, the great U Roy. It’s a rare cut of the riddim used for ‘The Song My Mother Used To Sing’ by Dennis Brown with a mellow mix on the flip side. Music is life and with it comes great joy.

Looking forward to going back on the road again. Music brings joy and happiness so let’s get together and make the bell ring. . See you in a field or a club somewhere this summer.

The number of FUTURE CLASSIC hits 🎵 coming out of Jamaica 🇯🇲 has dwindled down to less than 6 per year nowadays from 6 or more - every 2 months in the 88-95 era + today's young artists make 10 times more $ (for performing less than 30 mins) than what those 90s hitmakers made
